Elise loves Dada
Within the last few weeks, Elise has really become a Daddy's Girl. When I'm with her, she constantly asks for him, and even when I pick her up from her babysitter, she will immediately ask "dada?" when she sees me. Bryant is thrilled because she has always had an extreme mommy attachment, despite all their Tuesday and weekend playdates together. She still prefers me when she wants to be comforted but she knows that Daddy is the one who spins her around and throws her in the air. Their bond is so sweet.
Chatty Elise
Elise is at the 50 word mark! According to research, a "language explosion" happens in toddlers sometime after they learn 50 words.
"Up to age 14 months, on average — and how soon kids speak is hugely variable — words pop out here and there. Then comes an acceleration, and after they can say 50 or so words there’s often a language explosion, sometime around 18 months, McMurray says."
Here's what she is saying so far.

New words
- book (buu)
- elbow (bow)
- teeth (tee)
- pati (papi)
- lisa (eesh)
- bbang/pan (bba)
- shoe (hoo)
- bath (ba)
Her pronunciation is still...developing. :) When she wakes up in the morning, she immediately asks for her diaper to change (pee-pee!) and to eat breakfast. She specifies what she wants to eat (bread, oranges, and crackers).

Mini Boden Dress
I have been eyeing this dress for Elise for a long time but there is no way I am spending $42 on something she will only wear for 6 months! It finally went on sale and I am embarrassed to admit that I am just besides myself in excitement. I showed Bryant and he agreed that it is so "me". The gray and yellow...the stripes...the pockets...ahh! MiniBoden, I hate you and yet I love you.
Elise is going to look back at this blog entry one day and think her mom was crazy.
